A Message From Mr. Compton, Principal

A Message from our Principal, Lewis Compton

Welcome to Laurens Middle School, Home of the Tigers!

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our school. I am honored to begin my first year as principal at LMS. I am excited about the opportunity to develop positive and supportive relationships with students, staff, parents, and other stakeholders. The faculty and staff take great pride in providing a safe, secure, and nurturing learning environment, while at the same time offering a wide array of exciting and challenging academic programs and extracurricular activities. I, along with the faculty, will continue to serve the school community and work to build a legacy of success for ALL students, especially in these unprecedented times.

I have been in the education profession for 29 years as a history teacher, coach, assistant principal, and Senior Principal in Laurens School District 55. I attended Lander University and earned degrees in Business Administration and Business Education. I obtained my Master’s Degree from Grand Canyon University in Educational Administration. When not at school, I enjoy attending Clemson football games with my family, fishing, or working on our family farm.

Again, it is my pleasure to serve a school community with a rich tradition of success. I firmly believe that building positive relationships with ALL students, staff, parents, and the community is vital to the success of our students. During these uncertain times, it will be my goal to ensure that we continue to support the social, emotional, and academic growth and development of your child through your involvement and support as we embark on a new adventure.

I look forward to an awesome school year! GO TIGERS!
